AAA Psychotherapy Practices: Addictions, Abuse, Abandonment

Somewhere in your life you didn't learn how to
deal with your emotional pain …and now, your
pain is dealing with you.

The emotional pain that we link with Addictions, Abuse and Abandonment is repeatedly denied unconsciously

Denial is the emotional pain which remains out of our conscious awareness

  • Have you ever had stomach pain or headaches that you later realized had to do with stress?
  • Have you ever been mad at someone and later on wondered why you were so angry at such a little thing?
  • Have you had a strong desire for a drink (or drug) and not understood why you needed it NOW!

These are just a few examples of how denial can work in our lives. For people who are in the process of recovery from an addiction, increased awareness of repressed emotions is essential. Without awareness, our unconscious finds different ways of letting us know that we are in pain, however, the source of that pain, and therefore the treatment for that pain remains unknown to us.

Introducing a new model of emotional healing in seminar format

Recovery from Emotional Pain
A New Era of Healing
Going Beyond the 12 steps

The ultimate recovery process from emotional pain stemming from fears of abandonment and rejection, unexplained states of frustration, negative attitude, loneliness and lack of motivation, persistent feelings of sadness, anger, guilt and shame, confusion about your purpose in life

To find out if you are struggling with patterns of behavior that lead to unhappiness, ------and relapse, answer the following questions:

  • Do you believe that other people or outside circumstances are in control of your life?
  • Are you unable to include your own and others needs when making decisions?
  • Are you unable to identify your feelings or trust your motives, and do you "second guess" yourself?
  • Do you go back and forth between thinking that you are "better" or "less than" others?
  • Have you felt or believed that you deserve to be punished?
  • Are you often distracted by past memories in your current life?

Like so many others you experience much of the following on a daily basis:

  • You feel powerless to change your life.
  • You have lost the ability to be creative and feel alive.
  • You experience frustration and anger, and no matter what you do, it never seems to work out.
  • Many hours and days pass by with you feeling isolated and lonely.
  • Often, your life seems boring and repetitive.
  • Without understanding the source, you may feel guilty and ashamed.
  • You have a difficult time understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
  • You have lost your feelings of closeness with others.
  • You get depressed and anxious, and have problems maintaining intimate relationships.
  • You are terrified of abandonment and rejection, and it is difficult to reach out to others for help.
  • You get confused easily and tend to act impulsively.
  • You have questioned your motivation to continue living.

The greater the number of answers you have checked "yes" to, the more important it is for you to attend our seminars. Many people, who have experienced one or more of the above symptoms, have also experienced feelings of hopelessness and helplessness.

DON'T DESPAIR!!!

We, too, have experienced those feelings. Plus, over the past twenty five years we have worked with thousands of people just like you, and have finally been able to identify the roadblocks that keep us stuck. That is why we have designed this seminar which is specifically tailored to help you understand and change those thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, as rapidly as possible.

What we have learned over the last 25 years, both as people in recovery and as practicing psychotherapists, are that our beliefs and thoughts trigger our emotions, which in turn triggers our behaviors. For example, if we believe that sex is "bad", our thoughts will create feelings of guilt and shame whenever our sexual feelings are triggered. This will affect our sexual behaviors, which will also affect our ability to be intimate with others. A major goal of our seminar is to help you understand what your core beliefs are, where they originated, and learn how to alter them if they are not working for you. In addition, we will teach you how to identify the thoughts and feelings which originated in your past and are continuing to reoccur in your present. Our goal is to help you to separate both intellectually and emotionally your past "triggers" from your current life situation. As that occurs you will find yourself freer both from your emotional "triggers" and from your daily struggles.

As you learn to separate old beliefs and behaviors which no longer work in your best interest, you will open up new possibilities of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that you may previously have believed was impossible! Our seminar has been designed both for the person who wishes to go through this change process by themselves, with our DVDs, online, or in a group setting with our professional help. Don't wait! You've spent enough time suffering.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE ANYMORE!
